My sister's son and daughter just moved in with her. He pays rent and buys
the food he wants to eat and cook. She said the only way this was going to
work is if she treated him as a room mate even though she still thought of
him as her son. They've been there over a month, and so far, so good.

My other daughter and grandson are considering coming to live with us for
a while. They're in California, and I haven't seen them for a long time,
and I really want to help her get her life on track and give her some
support I feel she's been missing, so in that regard, it's a great thing.
I can't wait to get my mitts on my grandson -- he's 6, and I haven't seen
him in forever! OTOH, I've had an empty nest just long enough to get used
to it and learn to like it, so it will be a heck of an adjustment. One
thing you have to admit about life, though, it never stays the same for
very long!
Other than that, everybody's healthy and getting by. I'm feeling good
about my life right now and feel very blessed!

Okay, so I am procrasting...I have a HUGE pile of work to do and figured
I would start a thread on "updates". I often wonder how everyone is
doing since it's been so quiet around here and figure I'll start.....
I have been absolutely swamped with work. I have never seen it this busy
on a consisent basis year-round like I have over the last year. It is
great but boy are my fingers tired!!
We now have 3 horses. Romeo, my son's horse, is a now 6yo Belgian/QH
cross gelding who is the greatest horse ever. He LOVES my son. He's a
bit stubborn and I feel like he is acting like a snotty teenager
sometimes (the horse) but he is great for my son. My son is starting the
local show circuit on him next week so it will be a busy year. My DH
bought me a Polish bred Arabian gelding (Desco) for my birthday. He is
19 but you sure couldn't tell. He LOVES TO GO and is taller and bigger
than your normal Arabian. He is one of the most affectionate horses I
have ever seen. We added our third "baby" the Wednesday before
Christmas. His name is Dasher and he is a big paint with two blue eyes.
He is 7 and very collected and good-natured. He is really fitting into
his new home nicely and he and the younger gelding, Romeo, are pastured
together. They play like kids and love the Jolly ball I bought them. I
have never seen horses play like those two and it is a ton of fun to
watch.
We moved into our new house at the end of October and are still hoping
and praying that we sell our old house SOON! Fortunately work is
plentiful so the two payments aren't killing us but I sure can think of
other stuff to spend that money on. LOL! I love our new house and sure
can't wait to get it all "mine". We don't have grass yet because of the
drought and then it got too cold to plant sod so I am waiting on spring
to come so I can have a grass yard!!
Home school is going GREAT!! My son and I love it and if I would've
known how much we would love it I would have started doing it years ago.
Third grade is a tough grade for him as far as math goes but he is doing
well and his lowest test score so far is a 98. He has kept busy socially
with the 4-H horse group at the barn where we board our horse, playing
football and we are taking him today to sign up for spring baseball. He
is a good baseball player (pardon my bragging) and I am so excited to see
how he plays this year.
Okay.....I guess that's about it. NEXT................
