You know, I think that's the sticking point for me. If they really COULD be
sure they had the right guy, I think my attitude might be, "waterboard away,
have at it!" The idea of it being the wrong person who goes through that,
though, shames me for my country. Maybe I really AM a bleeding heart, but
this just goes against everything I believe in.

It's almost never the case that you're sure the person you're
waterboarding is the right guy and that he has the information you need.
You simply THINK he's the right guy, and you're HOPING he has the
information. Just what are you justified in doing to this person,
really? What if you are simply mistaken, what then?
