Flu

Day 1 -
Oh crap! 1 p.m. sudden fever, chills, chattering of teeth, shivering of
body, and a general "WTF" feeling. Then the cough and the joint pain, every
joint, not just the biggies, but right down to the little tiny joints you
don't even know you own. More cough. More cold. More hot. More WTF? Falling
asleep every 5 minutes.
Read this web site in the evening between periods of my head weighing 500
pounds - http://www.mothernature.com/Library/Bookshelf/Books/47/61.cfm
Some common sense advice.
Day 2 -
Okay, so it's the flu. Called in sick and e-mailed my MT bossly person. No
way I can sit up and do any work. No way I can drive to the center and
facilitate discussion groups, not to mention I don't need to be sharing my
germs. Same as day 1 without the "Oh crap!" instant upside-your-head onset.
By evening, feeling a smidgen better. Ice cream and ginger ale are good
food.
Day 3 -
Still sick. I'm sitting up and doing some typing, but I see a nap in the
near future. I've been up almost 2 hours now! That's a record for the past
few days. I had a cardboard tasting banana this morning.
The weekend is coming. I'm hoping to be alive again by Monday. This has
been a most interesting experience. It's amazing to feel your body fighting
off infections, literally feel it. I hope y'all miss the flu. It sucks. But
do check out the Rodale site above about how to avoid it and how to treat
it. And get your arses to the hospital if you need to go. DH's niece died
of the flu two weeks ago, really.
