It appears that they have massive feedback (over 9000) and it's 99.5%
positive.

I guess I'll go ahead and pay. It's not a lot of money at risk, I just
hate to get "taken".

It's also helpful to look at what their recent feedback is like, say within
the last couple of months or so. I tend to ignore negative feedback if it
happened a long time ago.
