I have a friend in Alabama and in the ritzy area she lives it most certainly
still is. In doctor's offices where she used to work, it most certainly did.

Are or were? I know for a fact about several "weres" in my town from the
late 50s/early to mid 60s.
She said..."and in some places still are", which is what I was asking
about. I know that used to happen but am wondering where it is still
happening.
