Same here in New Haven on I-95-I go about 60, but that is SLOW here. Have
to at least keep up. I think New York drivers are much better than CT
drivers. Also, so many folks on cell phones, while they are turning-it is
scary.

You will be killed on I-5 in the Seattle area for driving 55! The speed
limit is 60 which means drive 70 or be run over or killed! I drive about
60 (did it yesterday going to airport) and EVERYONE was whizzing by me at
about 70-80 mph. It is horrible in this area. (Traffic congestion
willing). They will truly run you down, tailgate, honk or scare the hell
out of you if you are not going at least 60-65! It is not for the faint of
heart to drive in this area. My sister from Boise can't stand it. I'm used
to it and it doesn't phase me but for those not from around here it scares
the bee-jesus out of them! Oh, and they are doing this while drinking
their Starbucks and talking on their cells!

I haven't seen anyone mention the one easy way to save energy. By
driving a few miles slower, you can avoid having to buy as much gas.
This also saves money, something we all want to do nowadays.
Do any of you still drive at what used to be considered a reasonable
speed limit of 55 mph? My old Colt was great at staying at or below
that limit. My Yaris, Blue Satyr, tends to creep up into the 60 range,
however, if I don't pay strict attention to what she's doing.
I do realize if you drive on freeways it's hard not to go faster with
the flow of traffic.
