I can choose to let my past dictate my future. I can choose to become a
victim of it or overcome it and define who I am. I can choose to let what
happened to my grandfather as a child or even young adult dictate who I am
or I can choose to leave it in the past and define who I am without
fighting a battle that was fought and won years ago. People choose to be
victims of the past, whether it be their past or their relatives' pasts.

choose to define who I am and who I want to be despite my past.
