Wow!!!!
I've long had a soft spot in my heart for SMT, but reading this post of
Barbara's is ultimately going to save me a bunch of money!
Out of curiosity, I was looking at how much of our Social Security income
was taxible - it was a bunch! I saw something that didn't look quite
right, dug a little further, and found a $8,919.00 mistake our accountant
made. Somehow, there is income listed from several years ago, back when I
worked for whatsherface and even before that.
He and I are going to have a l..o..n..g talk very soon.... I would be
saying a lot more rat here, but I can't wiffout cussing!

Damn, when did I retire? This is income from 2 or 3, maybe 4 years beofr
that. How the hell did he do that?
Martha, get your *** home from the casino! We gotta talk, don't you
know.

I've gotten sick of listening to both of them. Obama's plans aren't any
more believable. A $5,000 tax credit to pay for health insurance is not
going to help those who don't make enough to pay income tax to begin with
and there are lots of us in that category.
Also, for both of them, No one pays income tax on Social Security Income
unless you go over a certain amount. I'm not sure what that amount is,
but I know we've never come even close to it.
We do need to do something about health care, but I don't know the
answer. In general I'm happy with Medicare, except doctors you have been
to for years suddenly are dropped from your plan and drugs my husband
needs to stay alive are not covered. He needs nitroglycerine patches.
They are not covered. .2 costs $110 at CVS for 30. I can buy them from
the Canadian Drug Store for $84 for 90 of them. They sell the generic
for Flomax in Canada--exactly the same drug for about 25% of the price he
pays here--also not covered.
So, we could start by going against the pharmaceutical lobby and
negotiating for better prices for drugs. Obama has definitely addressed
that. Hillary has not that I have heard.
At this point I will, however, vote for anybody over McCain.

Rae, President Bush did break his word, but Shrillary is taking
promises into the realm of fantasy, at least in my Independent
opinion.
Sue, the health plans being proposed make me wonder who will pay for
them. I have always paid for my own health insurance, even when
working, even when it cost me over $400 a month. If any of the
proposed plans involves fiddling around with my Senior Advantage
insurance, I will be extremely angry.
One promise, and I can't remember which of the three said it, was that
Senior Citizens would not have to pay any tax on their Social
Security. Another was a $1,000 tax credit for everyone. Even though
I do like both of these, again I wonder where the money will come from
to pay for them. Thankfully I don't believe anything any of the
three tell us to get our vote.
What does worry me the most is Shrillary's thinking on Iran and how
she would react to threats from them about attacking Israel. Just
what we need, another war and this time with the threat of nuclear
weapons hanging over our country. Of course if we do get bombed by
Iran or China or any of the other places with nuclear weapons, I'll be
gone into a million tiny pieces.
Maybe I should just become like Alfred E. Neuman, "What, me worry?"
