It's a mess, that's for sure!!


What a crappy situation. No wonder you're physically and emotionally
crushed. 12K represents a whole lot of transcription, a whole lot of
hours put in by many people.

I have been fortunate. I went once to small claims court on a court
reporter. She sent a check,
then stopped payment because she was insulted I would "even try to go
to small claims court on her", but I had run to her bank the minute
the check came in the mail and cashed it before they thought to stop
payment - she was married to a lawyer who just dawdled and I got
mine.
Then with a company I worked for on the payroll, I withheld equipment
and passwords and "how to do it" instructions that would allow them to
retrieve the last of my work until my final check (certified) was
delivered in exchange for the equipment.
