That really, really sucks, Jeannie, for lack of better words!! I really
feel for you and anyone else left holding the bag on this. :-(

As for subs and personal property liens against their MTSO, I am not sure
what legal options would be. I am smack in the middle of my attorney
having to handle an account not paying and stopping payment on a HUGE
check to me, causing me to bounce checks all over town, subs included and
then never living up to their end of the repayment bargain. They are now
in arrears to me to the tune of 12 grand and approximately 2000 dollars
in unreturned equipment. I about tapped out all of my personal/business
savings for a situation like this and I am selling off what equipment
they did return in an effort to get/keep everyone paid and repaid for
what bounced when they stopped payment on their check to me. I did not
provide them with the courtesy of a 30-day dissolution of contract
because they stopped payment on a check and then did not pay other
invoices on time, so I was told they are making it hard for me to get my
money, which they are, and in turn is making me look REALLY BAD with
bouncing checks not only to subs but personal checks for bills, etc. It
has stressed me beyond belief to the point of not being able to eat,
sleep, hives, nausea/vomiting, constant headaches, etc.
I have my attorney looking into whether I can legally hold dictation put
on my server hostage until they provide me with payment. I have a TON of
it and have blocked them access to my server until I hear back. Of
course, the staff doesn't know how to find the voice files on their own
computers - bunch of idiots. The program stores them in a folder but
they aren't smart enough to figure it out. Heck, they can hardly manage
to download a file from an email versus just clicking on it to open it.
When I had an MTSO not pay me my final check when I quit, I had to get my
attorney involved. It cost me more than 50% in legal fees by the time I
finally got partial payment and if I would've taken it to court to force
her to pay me all of it, I would've ended up with virtually no money and
just the satisfaction of knowing I had won in court by the time I
would've paid for court fees, etc.
It's a mess, that's for sure!!
