These two situations are really totally different. In the case of the
ambiguous, it is a deformity they are trying to correct - the child
doesn't look clearly male or female. I'm sure there is tremendous
pressure from parents and others to "fix" them. If there genitals look
male, but they are XX, they will probably be condemned by some as
"sinners" no matter which sex they choose to be. If they have what looks
like a penis, but are XX, are they then "sinners" for having sex with
(marrying for those of you who will say it's a sin either way) a person
who is opposite of their genitals or opposite of their chromosomes?
There is a desperate need to make things black and white, when sometimes
there are very distinct shades of gray.
