Re: HUMOR: All Together, Now! (The Transcriptionists' List of Demands)

Every single Monday I get 100 to 200 minutes of dictation done on an
airplane. Needless to say my hearing is toast. I could actually scream it is
so bad. The roaring engine, the humming. I think it is slowly torturing me.
Sometimes I just walk out and pace around the house. DH says, Airplane
again? I say, I think I'm going to break his legs. Or I hit the desk with my
fists -- it gets me so mad I can hardly stand it. It is so hard to hear 90%
of what is said and I'm so damn anal that I will keep listening until I get
it. I charge him a fortune for airplane dictation, however but it will never
be enough. A friend of mine that worked on it and swears she could hear
nothing thinks I should get 50 cents a line.

My favorite was trying to hear dictation while a doctor's excited dogs
barked in the background. That sound has bothered me all my life,
even though I love dogs.
