Re: OT: Edwards finally comes clean - too late

I know this isn't specifically what you're talking about, that you're
referring to his Senate record (which isn't really all that great, IMO, if
you check his voting record, but I digress), but I always have to wonder why
people believe that being shot down over Vietnam and being held prisoner for
all those years qualifies McCain to be president. Certainly, I have to
admire him for persevering and surviving, but he was plain unlucky, and
that's all there is to it. He gave up a lot in service to his country and
is to be honored for that, but, IMO, he has shown very little strength of
character since then. To begin with, his treatment of his first wife
absolutely turned my stomach. I wonder what he'd do with Cindy if she
became disfigured in some way? Then, there's the fact that he was my
representative for a lot of years, and I can't say he ever did one danged
thing to help people in the economically depressed part of the state I lived
in. Now, if you lived in Scottsdale or Sedona (fairly exclusive areas with
much higher per capita income), that may have been a different story. I
never voted for the man the entire time I lived in Arizona, and I'm sure not
going to start now! I'll take a crapshoot over a sure ride to Hades any
day.

You obviously didn't read what I said, and I didn't say I would refuse
to vote for a cheater. It is something to take into account, but I
certainly will choose someone I can judge by his record and his many
years of experience over someone who is a total inexperienced
crapshoot, too.
