Neal, nobody forced them to gather like greedy pigs in front of the
store. Are you saying they are not at fault in that man's death?
Sorry, whatever happened to personal responsibility? Oh, I forgot,
that no longer exists in our overly-litigious society.

Wal-Mart did create the situation that led to this man's death, though.
They have some liability for the conditions. Why on earth did they not
have better security, both inside and outside, for the masses who were
bound to show up? Oh wait, this is Wal-Mart. It costs money to hire
enough people to provide adequate security, and heaven forbid it cut
into their profits in any way.

The family of that man is suing Wal*Mart because they know how hard it
would be to identify the people who actually killed him. There
probably is video of the mob, and the police should be able to
identify some of the killers, for that's what they are.

The police department is going through the tapes to see if they can
identify those who killed this man. I also think they should go after
everyone who stepped over or around him once he was down; by ignoring
the situation they contributed to his death in their own way.

You're right, I've never put myself in a situation where I would lose
control to a mob. What was so important inside the store that they had
to push and shove to buy it? I find these people disgusting!

I don't get it, either. My son was just as disgusted by this as I was,
even saying that this man's death was worth a $300 laptop or whatever
electronic gadgetry was being promoted. I understand that many people,
myself included, are trying to limit their spending this year - I won't
be showing up at a Wal-Mart, though; the last time I went there was 8
years ago when a friend was visiting and wanted to get something seen in
an ad - but I don't understand why people would put their lives in
danger by showing up and being in the mob waiting to get into the store.
