Hi, I've been checking around to find out what happened on the Desk
and found this discussion.  Unfortunately, my computer at work fell
victim to the same trojan you describe, Rae, with the same results.  I
know it came from the Desk because I had just gone there to check the
discussion in the Tech forum.  Immediately after that, my computer
rebooted, told me that it had just recovered from a serious error, and
then the fun started.  What a mess.

Likewise, I'm not going back until we get the "all clear" from Annie.

I just wanted to touch base.  Whatever the trojan/virus was, it ended
up completely disabling my computer, and I've had to start from
scratch.  I hope no-one else has fared as badly because of it!

I won't be returning to MTChat either. I am now close to $700 out from
the damage done to my computer. I have current malware and antivirus
professional versions running and it was still able to do considerable
damage. So for those of you who got some sort of warning, don't assume
that you are in the clear and check deep cleaning of your computers
because it was about four or five days after I got the short of
malware warning that the real problems began. There is no excuse for
this on Elsivier's part.
