She could. However, the use of statins should be very high among
diabetics since having diabetes is a "risk equivalent" for coronary
disease (i.e. the chances of a diabetic having a heart attack is the
same as a non-diabetic who has had a heart attack already).

For this reason, her comments are actually on-topic for the two diabetic
neqsgroups that this is being cross-posted to.
