Most folks would consider being able to come off of all medications a
"cure."

Folks "cured" of anything will probably continue to have a tendency
for recurrence. I believe you are confusing "cure" with immortality.

It is my belief that someone who is "cured" of their metabolic
syndrome has decreased cardiovascular risk compared to someone who is
not.
