Good point. Any non-American who believes that there's anything unique
about the U.S. or its policies that make it a deserving target of
extremist Islamic hatred had best consider the words of Martin
Neimoller (ca. 1938) as it pertained to the Nazis:

First they came for the Jews
        And I did not speak out -
        Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for the communists
        And I did not speak out -
        Because I was not a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists
        And I did not speak out -
        Because I was not a trade unionist.
