It is not a matter of lack of intelligence. Judas was intelligent
enough to steal money without getting caught. Nor is it a matter of
lack of free will. No one forced Judas to do anything against his own
free will.

Events were prophesied/foreseen in general but specifics about how
things would happen (ie who betrays whom) could have happened in a
near infinite number of permutations to allow individual free will to
be expressed.

Actually, no. Prophecy is not the same thing as predestination.

That was his choice, therefore free will.
