Probably true, but a cite for this claim would be in order, since this
whole thread has resulted from people improperly taking factoids out
of context and misinterpreting them

I dunno. The media does what the media will do, in order to sell
newspapers, and whatever they are advertising. The 36,000 is put out
from the CDC, but not in a bombardy sort of way. And it doesn't
mention either "general population" or "elderly". The JAMA article
may have had that information, though, without it having been
publicized.

The people who create hysteria are those who don't want to be sick and
miserable for two weeks when a cheap shot will keep it away. They
aren't worried about dying, just about feeling sick and miserable.

Why don't you look up the data and find out rather than guess? It's
on the net.
