COMMENT:

Boloney. I hear this all the time from the critics of medicine, and
whenever I do, I ask them to name 10 conventional examples-- which
should be easy. Usually the discussion ends right there.

Of course, it all comes down to standards of evidence, and I've
generally found there is no worse skeptic of induction than somebody
who doesn't want to believe the results. If there's a clinical trial on
12 year-olds does that mean it applies to 11 year-olds? 10 year-olds?
6 year-olds?

If it works on blacks will it work on whites? If it works on Brits
will it work on French?

If it works on housecats, will it work on tigers? If it works on
chihuahuas will it work on great Danes? If on horses, how about
donkeys?
