Serum lipids include cholesterol, triglycerides and ...chylomicrons. These
substances play important roles in fat metabolism and also contribute to
hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis), which is the major cause of
coronary heart disease, strokes and circulatory insufficiciency of the
legs.
....As is well known, high serum cholesterol levels promote heart disease...
