If it's only lasted for about three months, look for things that you
might be allergic too. It could be anything. It could even be a change
in airflow. It could be from a fan blowing up your nose when you sleep.
If you've been keeping a shade pulled up for the last three months, the
light or heat could be releasing fumes from something. Check for mold
in damp places. You could try an air cleaner, or saline nasal spray.
The doctor might prescribe a steroid nasal spray like he did for me,
but when I found out that my doctor prescribed one with a certain
ingredient that some people say to avoid, and when I read that steroid
nasal sprays hurt your immune system (as saline sprays do to a lesser
extent), I threw it out. I'm living with the congestion until I decide
to get turbinate reduction surgery.
What I'd like to know is why your not supposed to use OTC treatments
that could eventually eat away at your nose. That's exactly what I
want! That's what surgery is! I'd stop before it's pierced. I just want
to breathe better.
