I think I found a partial answer: Most web sites in the UK/Austr/NZ on
trich says to take 800 mg total per 24 hrs for 5 days. For single-dose
treatment, "CONCLUSION: A single 1.5-g dose of metronidazole has
efficacy equivalent to a single 2-g dose for the treatment of T
vaginalis vaginitis." Obstet Gynecol. 1997 May;89(5 Pt 1):699-703.
