Hi all,
It seem no matter what they give me it has a very ill effect on my
stomach. Last November my doctor prescribed something called a Z pack.
A Z-pack is a course of Azithromax, part of the erythromycin family.
I had diarrhea for almost two months because of it. Yesterday the
dentist gave me penicilln VK after taking out a tooth, 24 hours later I
am staying home because of stomach problems.
Are there others who have the same reaction to antibiotics? And if so,
what do you do to avoid staying home and being close to a bathroom for
days/weeks on end?
Mild diarrhea is a pretty common side-effect wth most antibiotics.
Severe diarrhea is somethig to be concerned about and to report to your
doctor immediately. Most of the time, the side-effect of severe diarrhea
can be resolved by changing to another antibiotic. Mild diarrhea can
usually be remedied with yogurt.
