Free Drug Samples
Did anyone see that guy (pushing his own book on the subject)
complaining on the news about doctors giving out free medication
samples to patients? Does this seem idiotic to anyone else? How does
it benefit a patient if he has to spend his own money to try a
medication that turns out to be ineffective or have unacceptable side
effects? What is wrong with a physician giving a patient trial packets
of medicine to see if it helps and is acceptable?
I recall at least two instances of this--one where the drug gave me
such bad headaches that I discontinued it; one where it was effective
and I saved a fair bit of change by using the sample packs for a month
or two.
