Adult ear infection - resistant?

A month and a half ago I went to the doctor for an ear infection which
was bothering me. He thought it was only outer ear so he gave me
neomycin/polymyxin drops. I used them for a week but my ear hurt more
and more so I went back to the doc. This time he saw it was middle ear
infection so he prescribed me Augmentin and Cipro HC. I used them as
directed but my ear still bothered me. So, I guessed that maybe the ear
had to drain after the infection was gone. Three weeks later now my ear
has started to hurt a lot (it usually only had a slight itching). The
last few days I've been taking pseudoephedrine to try and help it but
it does not seem to do much. Prior to this I was taking nothing,
besides from while I was on the antibiotic. Does it sound like I have a
resistant infection and should be prescribed something else? I am aware
of the dangers of bacteria acquiring resistance which is why I waited
(I had even waited a few weeks to see the doctor in the first place as
I hoped it would go away by itself), but it is really starting to hurt
much more now and even keeps me awake sometimes.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
