Dear All,
It has been about 7 weeks now that my mother has been ill. Initially
she used to have pain in stomach region. Then one day she said that she
had blackish stool and then later on she started vomiting black as
well. The doctors initially suggested injections for strength. Then one
day she could not feel her feet and she was taken to the hospital only
to find that she had anemia. She was admitted in medical ward for two
weeks where she was given 5 pints of blood and vairous tests like
ultrasound, CT Scan, Endoscopic Biopsy and ultrasonic FNAC were
conducted. She was reffered to another hospital from where she was
reffered to a third one where she was admitted and given blood all the
time in medical ward. She was still able to eat and walk. Then a couple
of weeks back they discharged her. On the next evening she was taken to
the Emergency ward where excess blood was taken out from her stomcah.
Since then she is in special care. Her latest Endoscopic Biopsy report
quotes the following.
Clinical Data: Suspected gastric carcinoma.
Opinion: H. Pylori associated active gastritis
Note: There is no evidence of malignancy in the
material examined.
According to the CT Scan and ultrasound there is some solid lesion in
the duodenum region. She is there in hospital and very weak with her
hands shaking and she is unable to talk. The doctors are waiting and
waiting. I am very worried as she is very weak. She has been given
about 16 pints of blood in last 6-7 weeks. Although no blood has been
given for previos 3 days. Her HB is about 9 at the moment. Doctors are
saying they will operate her to remove the blockage from duodenum. But
they are waiting for her to get strong. I am worried because she can't
eat anything. She was given liquid diet but today she had a black vomit
again. Can anyone suggets me what is that those doctors want and what
is the true nature of disease?
Regards,
Atta.
