Retinal Transplant

Hello,

My friends daughter is in need of a retinal transplant if she has any
hope of restoring any decent vision. She's only 12 and this happened
from an accident. She was taken to Miami to see a doc there and
they're saying that retinal transplants are quite a ways away from
being successful. Does anyone have any useful info on this research
and maybe a name of the best doc in the country for her to see?
