Body temp is almost always at 97.9 or 98.0.
Has been this way for years.
Would a fever therefore be present at say; 98.4 (a half degree), 99.9
(2 degree fever)??

A Fever is a sign of some source of infection. A TRUE fever that is
considered possibly dangerous would be anything over 101.5. If this is
treated with an antipyretic such as ibuprofen, tylenol or even aspirin
and the fever goes down that is a correct treatment for this fever. On
the other hand if the fever remains and does not diminish with
treatment (antipyretics) then you would require and exam by a medical
professional. Remeber fever is a sign of a possible problem. It is the
bodies way of fighting off a problem be it a major infection or just a
virus. Hope this answer helped.
