fungal infection won't go away

I've been fighting what I believe to be a fungal infection for almost
a year now. At times, it almost disappeared, only to come back. I've
seen three dermatologists, and all diagnosed it as fungal (although
the only doctor who tested a swab sample said it returned negative but
was probably a false negative).

The problem is present in both armpits and groin area, although
armpits are significantly worse. Symptoms include itch (which worsens
with sweat, hot showers and becomes *violently* worse with deodorant,
which I've discontinued), redness and oozing when scratched too much.
At one point, I thought it had disappeared only to see it return upon
applying a bit of deodorant.

I've tried Lotrimin, Lamasil, Naftin (prescription), and Oxi-something
(also prescription). The doctor asked my if I dry clean any of my
clothes (which I don't) so she ruled out an allergic reaction. I've
also tried Neosporin just out of desperation, as I read somewhere that
the oozing could mean a bacterial infection had developed as well.

Any ideas? This has been driving me crazy.
