Getting Off Blood Pressure Medication?

An aquataince of mine is a women in her mid-70's and takes Toprol and
Amlodipine Besylate to control her high blood pressure. She wants to
get off the meds entirely because they make her really tired and
dizzy. Sometimes upon awakening she is so dizzy she needs someone to
support her to walk.

One day upon awakening her pulse was very low - 51.

Does anyone have any advice? We would really appreciate it because
her doctor has not been very helpful.
