Can a mole be removed with laser surgery?

Hello. I am a 33-year-old male.

My dermatologist wants to remove a mole near my stomach, and he wants
to examine the mole just to make sure that the mole is not serious. To
remove the mole, he wants to use local anesthesia and cut out the
mole.

Years ago, he used local anesthesia to cut out a mole on my left
thumb, and the procedure involved some pain, and the scar on my thumb
is still visible.

Is there a way to cut out the mole with a laser, so that the procedure
is not as painful and so that the procedure does not leave a lasting
scar?

Thanks for any information.
