Some years ago on Sci.Nanotech, there was a similiar discussion thread to this
one. The idea came up (I believe Josh Hall had some things to say about it)
regarding the possibility of using molecular nanotechnology to build a
realistic flying carpet: Picture a *** of strong and resilient material that
is covered with dense networks of fan like devices. I do not know what the
power limits, heat dissipation, and other factors, nor the speed or flight
ceiling, would be. Please feel free to discuss this concept.
Here is another unrelated idea: Could MNT be used to construct diamondoid and
fullerene cilia, able to carry a person up a vertical surface?
