    The Chair in Electronic Engineering & Nanoelectronics, Department of
    Biophysical & Electronic Engineering (DIBE), University of Genova,
    Genova, Italy

    Offers a Ph. D. student position and grant

    Topic: Nanoelectronics

    Duration: 3 years starting from the 1st of December, 2004

    Application Deadline: 20 October 2004 To be filled by 30 November
    2004

    The doctorate research activity will be devoted to the emerging field
    of nanodevice development. Candidates will be involved in
    interdisciplinary work concerning the design, fabrication and
    characterization of one or more of the following devices: Carbon
    Nanotube based FET (CN-FET), Single Electron Transistor (SET) and
    Quantum Dot (QD) based memories.

    AFM, STM, SEM, TEM, RAMAN spectroscopy, Microfabrication and Thin Film
    Lab, Chemical Lab and Electrical Lab facilities will be used.

    General admission requirements: Master Degree
    The ideal candidate for this position has a background in one or more
    of the following areas: physics, materials science, chemistry,
    engineering or related disciplines.

    The research group co-operates closely with other groups at the
    University of Genova, nationally and internationally leading
    universities as well as industrial partners.
