When did this become a motor?
That's a relaxation oscillator.
Zettl's home page, which the glikglik thing links to, describes it as a
relaxation oscillator. The Applied Physics Letters article, published
by his group (linked to by his page) describes it as a relaxation
oscillator. The word "motor" does not even appear in the paper.
The nearest one comes to the concept are the authors speculating about
developing some sort of mechanical coupling between the blobs (which I'd
really like to see, frankly) and some other object to be driven.
Sorry, guys, but an oscillator alone does not make a motor.
I wish the PR people would get it right, once in a while.
