Powder diffraction - Radial Integration

Hello all, i am 6 months into my PhD on x - ray powder diffraction and
was wondering if anyone could answer a query i had. My group uses CCDs
to attain powder diffraction images and i have read that radial
integration is used to extract teh 2theta Vs Intensity data.
I was hoping that a line could be sampled from the beam axis to the the
top of the CCD , which would be used to determine the 2 theta positions
and corresponding intensities, but i guess its not that simple. How
does radial integration work in XRD or is there any othe method?
