The last term should be generalised to "chemical nanotechnology",
which tries to make materials with new and improved properties by using
tailored, functional building blocks where at least one dimension lies
in the range between 1 and 100 nm.

In this aspect chemical nanotechnology represents a new tool box
to control the morphology of materials, thereby complementing
traditional techniques.
