Re: Best Programming language for AI in Nanobots

"Sure you want a machine, but the use of evolutionary techniques in
programming or even designing that machine does not make it a being, or

even capable of evolving further."

What I want is something rather simple built to a specific purpose.
Evolution is great at building complex system that can survive and I am
a big fan of De Guer's work in this field, but what I want to cure HIV
or reduce Sodium is the nano tech version of a door stop, something
that reproduces in the billions, binds to a certain known molecule
chain rendering that chain and the organism it is part of powerless.

I find that evolution is great at making plants, but for single purpose
cludges like door stops or tooth brushes straight forward gadget design
wins.

But your point is excellent. Nano programming would not involve code
being compiled to something in the nano machine, but will be a way of
setting up the molecular chains and connections of the device so that
it does what you want when you want. Its a question of method. I
imagine programmers with goggles moving molecules around to make
prototypes and allowing them to reproduce. But maybe the method will
be more like setting up a very fast artifical selection, or perhaps the
nano systems will be trained in some other effort, positive
re-inforcement rewards and remove behaviours without destroying the
individual. A nano device migh run through it a billion different ways
until it just guesses the answer.

Though for my money I think finding a unique segment of the HIV
membrane or RNA structure would be the best, and that would be done map
to mirror image, mirror image to design, design to nanobot, nanobot get
engine and reproduction unit, take 2 in the morning and call me when
you are entirely healthy in 48 hours.
