Oh one more point.

A factory can only make one bot at a time, after it makes 10,000 bots
it is no faster than before.

Now if I need say 100,000,000,000 bots to do some massive job, like
clean the American Great Lakes or remove air born bacteria, it is going
to be best to use self replicating. Since I can easily get expodential
growth.
