Nonlinear Physics with Mathematica for Scientists and Engineers
Richard H. Enns and George C. McGuire, 2001, Birkhäuser, 691
pp., hardcover, includes CD-ROM.
This text is aimed at a wide audience, including undergraduate and
graduate students as well as working scientists. The experimental
activities included are designed to deepen and broaden the reader's
understanding of nonlinear physics. The Mathematica computer algebra
system is used extensively, although no prior knowledge of Mathematica
or programming is assumed. The CD-ROM included contains a wide variety
of illustrative nonlinear examples solved with Mathematica. There are
also 130 annotated Mathematica files that may be used to solve and
explore the text's four hundred problems.
