The Slant Chart doesnt convince me. The amount of
additional information is small, but the viewer
is irritated by slanted lines and it is more difficult
for him to evaluate the chart.
The Volume-Price-Chart is more convincing. It adds
vital information (volume) without disturbing the
overall impression (and evaluation) too much.
If you implement some of these chart types in the
Gnuplot program (C source code is open), maybe you
could convice Yahoo to use your chart types.
Yahoo uses Gnuplot to produce online charts.
