thanks a lot. I think both suggestions are to use the autocorrelation
function. it seems to be giving results so far. our trouble is we have
very small number of data points (2500).
also do you think examining the envelope of a signal will give the same
route to chaos as the signal itself ? please let us know the reference
in favour of either answer.
