A wonderful book for this is "The Nature of Mathematical Modeling" by Neil Gershenfeld, Cambridge University Press, 1999.
I have this book on my shelf, and it is a really
ambitious book (in terms of breadth of coverage)
about mathematical modelling. For example, the
Appendix handles OpenGL as well as Socket IO.
But the OP wanted a catalogue of models.
He will not find sich a catalogue in Gershenfeld's
book.
