Glare from 'anti-glare' coating!

Our MD here at work has a car which has an 'anti-glare' coating on the glass
covers of the speedo and rev-counter. This thin-film coating appears
transparent blue in colour from certain angles in daylight. However when the
sunlight comes in from the side windows, the instruments become *totally*
unreadable from the drivers seating position due this so-called anti glare
coating acting like a blue mirror!.
Does anyone know of any possible solutions to this problem, filters, angled
windows etc?
Many thanks for any advice.
