Hi,
All angular orientations of any surface are accounted for by a suitable
combination of tip and tilt (Z2 and Z3 by Noll's ordering). They are
the only aberrations that affect the "pointing" of a beam.
Consider a beam with any arbitrary aberrations incident on a perfect
mirror at an arbitrary angle. The beam will reflect with angle given by
the tip/tilt of the mirror, and the other aberrations of the beam will
be unchanged. If the mirror has additional aberrations, they will be
added to the beam.
The apprent elliptical cross-section of the mirror does not come into
it, since the aberration (here tip/tilt) does get applied across the
entire circular beam as it "reflects" off the mirror (i.e. the
"reflection" can be viewed as an "aberration" that changes the
direction of the beam).
