Re: Is there a way to get a different magnification than the ratio of the distances from the lens?

Hi,
my idea above makes use of such a first and second(final) image. Only I
can not have such a intermediate screen.Would this work without a
screen?
I have to stay on a straight axis anyway.
So instead of
object---200mm---lens(fl=100mm)---200mm---screen
I think this would work:
object---135mm---lens(fl=16.875mm)---15mm---intermediate translucent
screen(etched glass or wax
paper)---50mm---lens(fl=66.667mm)---200mm---screen
But would it work also with the intermediate screen omitted like this:?
object---135mm---lens(fl=16.875mm)---65mm---lens(fl=66.667mm)---200mm---screen
