No, Sam. I think you have every right to voice your opinion, and
I am glad you did.
This is the typical big business big bucks *** you over up the ass
till you bleed bull*** that greedy corporations should not be getting
away with.
This company let you work on and profit from your personal hard work
for 15 years and then suddenly threatens you with your pension? That
is blackmail, plain and simple. You seriously need to consult an
attorney.
I also think everyone who has a copy of the program needs to post its
source code to usenet. Jim's hands might be tied at the moment but
there's nothing they can do to anyone else. I know I downloaded the
program once many years ago. I'll have to see if I still have it. I
don't recall if I downloaded the source code.
This is a totally wrong situation and everyone knows it. The 'legal'
options may be limited and will probably only favor the one with the
most money (which makes it even more wrong). Unfortunately that's not
Jim. So maybe it's time for "we the people" to start exercising some
other options.
The only reason companies get away with this kind of crap is because
people throw their arms up the air and say "There's nothing you can do
about it." They let them get away with it by not fighting back. There's
other ways to fight back than through the courts.
Jim, I hope I'm not treading on sore feet with you, but I just feel you
are getting so screwed over. It's not fair by any definition of the word
that I can think of. It sounds to me like they had this planned all along.
Please, if you can, consult a lawyer and see if you have legal options.
