WHere does the Optical communications industry stand on Solitons?
Before the crash Solitons were discussed as a means of ultra long haul without repeaters. Especially for submarine systems.
Can anyone recommend a good resourse to read up on the near latest on where folks are going with Soliton technology?
thanks!!!
Can't suggest a good ref on solitons --haven't been digging into the topic -- but I suspect some Googling will bring up a lot of stuff.
I don't know if G.P.Agrawal's book "Applications of Nonlinear Fiber Optics" is current or relevant enough, but it could be a good starting point.
