I just got my first pair of bifocals earlier this year, and went for
the gradual transition type. Must say I'm not thrilled with them and
wish I had instead gotten the standard version with the distinct lines.
It's hard to watch TV lying down, as that puts a distant object (TV
screen) at the bottom of the lens. If I had a distinct transition
between lenses, I could *** my head (or slide the glasses down my
nose) a minimal amount and see the screen clearly.
Do they even make the gradual type of trifocals? Those transitional
regions would eat up a lot of potentially useful viewing area.
